Some luxury hotel options in and around Puerto Vallarta for families, couples and groups of friends.

Puerto Vallarta is a favorite Mexican destination. Known for its beautiful beaches, amazing shopping and welcoming population, no wonder a variety of luxury resorts opened their doors in that region. As long as you have travel insurance, when you step foot in one of these resorts, you can forget about everything and simply let yourself be pampered by the staff.

There are obviously many options for accommodations in a spot as popular as Puerto Vallarta. But for a special holiday, or simply to be pampered, nothing beats a classic, traditional luxury hotel with a variety of food options, health centers and spas, lots of activities and top-notch service. These hotels typically offer all-inclusive packages, which is great if you don’t want to worry about anything during your trip.

For families, we suggest the Hotel Crown Paradise Club. This resort has something for everyone, from toddlers to grandparents. It’s perfect for big family reunions, weddings or simply a family vacation. The hotel includes playgrounds for children, a family play area, a children’s water park with nine water slides and a pool for adults, organized activities and more. When it is time to eat, you have the choice between three specialty restaurants, one buffet restaurant, a beach side snack bar and 24 hour room service. For the adults, there are five bars, including two nightclubs. Rooms can either fit a couple, or a family with up to 5 members.

For a more adult getaway, the Hotel Villa del Palmar is an excellent choice. Featuring a variety of rooms for occupation of up to 6 guests, this hotel features a shopping center and a beauty salon, along with a fitness center and even a laundromat for those extended stays. Located in the hotel zone, excellent shopping, restaurants and nightclubs are only a few minutes’ walk away. The hotel provides a-la-carte stays, with meal and drink plans, depending on your needs and budget. There is a marketplace for those who prefer cooking their own food. There are two swimming pools and two Jacuzzis, and the two bedroom suites offer a complete kitchen for those without a meal plan.

If you enjoy a more urban-style vacation, the Hotel Buenaventura Grand might be your preferred spot. Located in downtown Puerto Vallarta, it still has access to the beach, and of course the variety of shopping and restaurants found in downtown Puerto Vallarta. On-site, however, you will have access to four restaurants, two bars and one snack bar, as well as a buffet restaurant. It offers either all-inclusive or European plans, depending on your needs; the service differs on either of these plans. Activities for children and seniors make this hotel a good choice for family vacations. However, if you dislike being disturbed by time-share sellers, avoid the streets nearby; downtown Puerto Vallarta is infamous for its aggressive throng of real-estate agents. The hotel, in any case, has everything you need, and you shouldn’t have to leave the hotel to find anything that you might require.

These are only a few options, and a good Internet search might provide extra ideas. Just make sure to get a cheap travel insurance, since health care in Mexico can be expensive for tourists. But with that insurance in hand, all you need to do is get on your flight, relax, and enjoy being pampered by the warm Mexican hospitality that has made Puerto Vallarta a favorite spot for decades.
