August is a busy month for all of us in the Vallarta Escapes office.  We are busy touring and selecting properties to showcase for the upcoming High Season and working with our Marketing Department to create some value packed offerings for our clients.

Right now we are at work on a new concept of vacationing in Mexico.  A “four city” destination tour of Mexico.  Imagine this… Your flight arrives at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport where a member of our team is awaiting your arrival and you are taken to a condo located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta´s Romantic Zone where you will enjoy your first 3 nights in Mexico.  Then you will travel to Guadalajara to stay in a Four Star Hotel in the Historic Center of town for 3 nights before going onto Ajijic for 5 nights and from there you will go onto explore the wonders of Manzanillo, Mexico for another 5 nights.  You then return to Puerto Vallarta for an additional 2 nights prior to your return home.   This 18 night journey will showcase some of the best that Mexico has to offer.  This trip can be customized to fit your personal timeline and needs and will be available at three different price levels.  If you would like to receive detailed information on this exciting tour please send an email to info@VallartaEscapes.com

How do you measure your ROI with Social Marketing

What’s the ROI (Return On Investment) of social media? That’s the million-dollar question that every marketer and brand manager has been trying to answer for a long time and yet, it can’t be done with accuracy.

The “Social Media Pros” who are measuring it have their own theories and practices. But there isn’t a one-stop tool that solves the problem of how to understand and calculate social media ROI.

So I guess the question should be: How are we supposed to measure a social media campaign success?

The answer is not that complicated when you take in consideration the following points:

1- Social Media is the Vehicle for your company, Not the Destination

This is a communications tool and consistent action must be taken to engage a following.  This would be like trying to calculate the ROI of a business card, just like a Facebook fan or a Twitter follower, a business card represents potential.

2- Listen and Apply what you learn to Every Department

This is better explained with an example: If you have a restaurant; when you post your dishes to your Facebook Page, what gets more likes and comments? Is it the chicken dishes or the fish dishes? Are they positive or negative? Apply what you learn and keep your customers happy and returning.  How can you measure that?

As you can see, social media is not the stopping place; it is actually the starting place. You have to take action on your prospects, take your fans or followers and turn them from passive fans to paying customers or at least a source of information to help you grow.

If measuring ROI in Social Media is like Greek to you, then you may be interested in a Three Day Social Marketing Conference held this November in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico.  The Conference www.tweettobeheard.com is loaded with essential knowledge for both the Social Marketing Beginner and the savvy Professional.

The Annual Summer Vacation

Remember Summer Vacation?  My family took one this year in a charming place called Manzanillo, four hours south of Puerto Vallarta.

The town of Manzanillo hosts Mexico’s largest cargo port with ships floating in daily from around the world.  It is fascinating to watch as cargo ships with exotic names bring their goods in from distant destinations.

We stayed at a sweet little place called Bungalows La Joya that sits right on the beach.  One morning we were entertained by a very large sea turtle swimming near the sandy beach.

Breakfast is included each morning by pool side.  The rooms are clean and include a kitchen.  The town is small and easily traveled by bus to shops and restaurants.

I would definitely recommend Manzanillo for a vacation, just for you!

A new fun lake activity on Lake Chapala

Now when you visit Lake Chapala we have a new fun and different activity that you will enjoy other than sitting in a little motor boat that takes you around the lake this is a new way of enjoying the lake, they now have what’s called the Batur! It is new and a way different way of you seeing the lake form the inside out, most of the times we come and enjoy the view from the Malecon and we miss looking from the middle of the lake out to town….a different whole new view….and at your own relaxed pace because  the tour takes 2 hours and for the price of the fare you will get one drink  so you can have some fun. The Batur is only available for trips on the weekend, Saturdays you can even rent it to celebrate your birthday or any other important event…

It has a capacity of 200 persons and it can run for 14 hours straight so if you are planning to come and visit the lake don’t miss the chance to go on the Batur and get to know the lake form the inside out….
